The Arab American National Museum is accepting applications from aspiring local hip-hoppers ages 14 to 24 who would like to participate in a free, 10-day residency with a pair of internationally known hip-hop artists: Iron Sheik and Head-Roc. Auditions will take place on Saturday, January 13th.
The up-and-coming performers selected for the January 13-21 residency will learn hip-hop production, performance and song writing skills, and then put those skills to use in a hands-on recording studio experience.
Residency participants will be featured in a live performance at the January 18th Global Thursday's program. For further information and application materials, call Lauren Bass at 313-624-0207 or visit http://www.arabamericanmuseum.org. The free Hip-Hop Residency is made possible by a generous grant from the Nathan Cummings Foundation.
